The second National Specialty was held in Ontario October 2008, with Conformation, Sweeps and Obedience in conjunction with the London Canine Association All Breed Show in Tillsonburg.  The Herding and Agility Trials were held at other area facilities.

The association with LCA allowed us to offer 4 sets of points for conformation exhibitors and 6 trials for obedience.

The 4 Herding Trials (2 sheep & 2 ducks) were held in Ingersoll October 16th, and the Agility Trial, in conjunction with McCanns in Flamborough, was held October 17th.  Our Obedience Trial and Puppy/Veteran Sweeps were indoors in Tillsonburg the evening of October 17th and the Conformation (outdoors with perfect fall weather) was on October 18th.

We had exhibitors from both sides of our country for all our events, and a large number of our American friends came for the Conformation shows.  We were thrilled to have  11 teams competing for the prestigious MVA Award!

A huge thanks to the handful of dedicated and hardworking people who gave their all to make this National a success...

Excellence can be obtained if you...
Risk more than others think is safe,
Dream more than others think is practical,
Care more than others think is wise, and
Expect more than others think is possible.

The CNASA membership has much to be proud of for successfully organizing and putting on, not only the 1st National Specialty for the Australian Shepherd in Canada, but probably one of the most intensive weeks of events any breed in our country has ever attempted.

There were 5 main venues available to compete in, consisting of Conformation, which included Altered, Juvenile & Veteran Sweeps, an Obedience Trial, Junior Conformation & Obedience competition, 4 Agility Trials, 5 Herding Trials consisting of 3 sheep & 2 duck, and the hail mary of true Aussie versatility, the arduous MVA competition. Competitors came from all parts of Canada & the USA.  From N.B to B.C, from Maryland to Washington, from Idaho to the NWT's!

It takes a dedicated group in the fancy to not only "Dream it" but to make that "vision" a reality. This vision had big ambitions and the reality of that was a lot of fundraising, planning & man hours.  Nothing like setting the bar!

There are so MANY of you to Thank for your part in putting on this National.  An incredible amount of volunteer man hours invested and the CNASA club "thank" all those involved and who "stayed the course".

Huge Thanks to our wonderful Judging panel!

The week wrapped up with a banquet of good food, lots of laughs and a rousing auction! Ron Forbes & Toni Lashbrook have truly missed their calling! Looking forward to the next National Specialty!!!
